Richard Ahiagbah has challenged the viability of the NDC’s 24-hour economy policy, stating that it is neither necessary nor feasible.
Speaking in an interview at Metro TV monitored by MyNewsGH, he argued that the promise was misleading and unrealistic.
“If you’re going to do a 24-hour economy and say it’s 1-3-3, it means every establishment would have to employ three people per job, working in three shifts. How is that possible across all sectors?” he questioned.
Ahiagbah maintained that institutions requiring 24-hour operations already function that way. “Hospitals are already doing that.
Security services are already doing that. So where exactly are they introducing this policy?” he asked.
He dismissed the claim that the NDC was bringing something new, stating that existing structures already provide essential services around the clock.
“What is doable has already been done. What is necessary and demand-appropriate is being implemented. There is no 24-hour economy,” he emphasized.
He concluded that Ghanaians should not be deceived by political rhetoric. “They need to stop this 24-hour economy talk. It’s not realizable,” he stated firmly.
