Oheneba Kofi Adum Bawuah, a former aspirant for the Ashanti Regional Chairmanship, has made a striking declaration, vowing to change his nationality if the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, win the 2024 elections.
In an interview on Metro TV, Oheneba Bawuah accused Dr. Bawumia and other prominent figures of hijacking the NPP. He expressed his disillusionment with the party, citing the behaviour of certain members as the reason for his estrangement.
“I hope there will be a runoff between the NDC’s John Mahama and Alan Kyerematen, founder of the Movement for Change, so that the NDC can eventually win and be declared the victor after December 7,” he stated, revealing his preference for a Mahama presidency over an NPP victory.
Oheneba Bawuah was particularly critical of the NPP, labelling its members as corrupt. “Go under the beds of people; they are hiding money there.
Some have kept theirs in poly tanks. Look at the National Cathedral—they claim they spent $58 million on a project that could have cost $10 million. They swindled even God and shared the money,” he lambasted.
The former chairmanship aspirant went further, asserting that if Dr. Bawumia secures a win, it would signify that “Ghanaians are not serious,” prompting him to renounce his Ghanaian nationality.
“Ghana must come first. No political party should control this country,” he emphasized, calling for the electorate to hold political parties accountable.
Oheneba Bawuah concluded by predicting the NPP’s downfall, attributing it to what he described as their greed and pervasive corruption, which he believes have disillusioned the Ghanaian people.
