The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has assured Ghanaians of a peaceful and violence-free electoral process in the upcoming elections.
Speaking to presidential candidates, parliamentary aspirants, and other key stakeholders, IGP Dampare emphasized the police service’s readiness to ensure a secure environment and called on citizens to support this effort with prayers and responsible conduct.
“The electoral ballot features 12 presidential candidates, but only one will emerge victorious. The others will have another opportunity in the future,” he remarked. “Similarly, while 801 parliamentary candidates are contesting, only 276 will win.
This is not the end of the world. Regardless of the outcomes, Ghana remains our shared home, and we must protect its peace.”
IGP Dampare reiterated the police service’s unwavering commitment to maintaining law and order throughout the electoral process. He urged citizens to avoid any form of violence that could disrupt the nation’s stability, stressing that peaceful elections are critical for Ghana’s progress.
“This election will be even more peaceful than the previous ones,” he assured, reaffirming the police service’s preparedness to deliver on its mandate while fostering unity and national harmony.
