Renowned relationship counselor Rev. Charlotte Oduro once revealed that communication was the biggest challenge in her marriage, despite her husband being a humble man and a good cook.
Speaking on Abeiku Santana’s Atuu show a year ago, she admitted to leaving home multiple times, often with her children, due to unresolved communication issues.
“I left home more than six times. My husband is humble and a good cook, but our issue was always communication. I mostly didn’t go to my parents’ house but to my younger sibling’s. He had his own apartment, and when leaving, I wouldn’t tell him. It’s not always about pampering or pleading for forgiveness—it’s about what we fail to communicate. When I try, and I’m made to feel like a torment, he does that with actions, not words,” she shared.
Her past comments have resurfaced following the announcement of her divorce by her ex-husband, reigniting debates over her long-standing views on marriage.
Many critics have pointed out how she previously advised women to endure difficult marriages, arguing that “no marriage is perfect.”
Rev. Charlotte Oduro’s controversial teachings on relationships have often sparked discussion, but her divorce has intensified scrutiny over the impact of her counsel on Ghanaian women.
