More than thirty students of Sawla Senior High School in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District of the Savannah Region have been suspended indefinitely for breaching school regulations.
Majority of the affected students are girls, and they are accused of possessing mobile phones on campus, a violation of Ghana Education Service (GES) rules.
Reports from the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District Directorate of GES suggest that the suspended students were also engaged in other inappropriate activities while in school.
Following an investigation by a seven-member committee set up by the school management, all the students were found guilty of the allegations, resulting in their suspension.
Sawla Senior High School has previously been in the spotlight for incidents involving inappropriate relationships between tutors and students.
In the past, individuals implicated in such misconduct faced disciplinary actions, including dismissals and suspensions.
