GES caution against unauthorized BECE Registration fees

The Ghana Education Service has cautioned Heads of Basic Schools in the country against imposing unauthorized BECE registration fees on final-year students.

A statement issued on February 12, 2025, and signed by Head of Public Relations, Cassandra Twum Ampofo, said the Education Service has taken note of the unauthorized fees being charged and has instructed Regional Directors to alert District Directors to monitor the situation and caution all Heads of Basic Schools.

The statement ordered every headmaster who has charged the unauthorized fees to refund the fees to the students.

The Ghana Education Service intends to sanction heads of basic schools who fail to comply with the directive.
