A fatal accident on the Tech-Oforikrom stretch of the Kumasi-Accra highway in the early hours of Tuesday, February 11, claimed two lives and left several others injured.
The crash, which occurred around 4:30 a.m. at the Opoku Transport intersection, involved a Ford Transit trotro bus and an OA-branded commercial bus.
Eyewitnesses reported that the trotro, travelling towards Oforikrom at high speed, collided with the OA bus at the junction. The impact was severe, instantly killing the trotro driver and his conductor.
Emergency services, including the Ghana National Fire Service and the National Ambulance Service, quickly responded to the scene, providing medical assistance to the injured and clearing the wreckage.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident, with speeding suspected to be a contributing factor.
