Tarkwa-based businessman Maxwell Boakye has secured victory in the Western Regional Council of State election, winning decisively with 17 votes out of the 28 cast in the first round.
The 32-year-old triumphed over eight other candidates in a keenly contested election that underscored the region’s political engagement and the increasing call for youthful representation in governance.
Akwasi Nsiah-Awuah emerged as Boakye’s closest contender, obtaining 10 votes, while Adjei Clement secured just one. The remaining six candidates failed to garner any votes, further solidifying Boakye’s dominant win.
