President Mahama passes on ORAL report to Attorney General for onward action

President John Dramani Mahama has officially handed over the final report of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Committee to the Attorney General for further action.

The report, which details corruption-related complaints and cases of misappropriated public resources, is expected to guide legal proceedings and policy interventions.

The ORAL Committee, chaired by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, submitted its findings to the President on Monday, February 10, 2025, revealing that it had received 2,417 complaints from individuals and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs).

These reports were gathered through 1,493 toll-free calls and 924 emails, all of which have been preserved for verification.

Speaking during the submission, Mr. Ablakwa emphasised the significance of the complaints, noting that they reflect widespread concerns about corruption and financial mismanagement.

President Mahama, in response, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring accountability and directed the Attorney General to take the necessary legal steps to act on the findings.

The public is now awaiting further updates on the government’s approach to recovering looted funds and prosecuting those implicated in financial misconduct.
