The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has held a meeting with all 48 Access Bank Division One League clubs to review the first round of the ongoing 2024/25 season. The meeting aimed to assess the progress made so far and implement effective measures for a successful second round.
President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku expressed gratitude to the clubs for their continuous improvement of the league and encouraged them to strive for even more progress. The association reiterated its commitment to providing support to the clubs, including updates on benefits due to them.
Key discussion points included:
- Player and Match Promotions: Strategies to promote players and matches were discussed to enhance the league’s visibility.
- Officiating: The clubs reviewed refereeing standards and proposed ways to improve officiating in the league.
- Safety and Security Protocols: DCOP Lydia Donkor, Chairperson of the GFA Safety and Security Committee, reminded clubs of safety and security protocols and introduced new initiatives from the Ghana Police Service.
The Access Bank Division One League has been highly competitive, with several teams vying for the title. The competition enters Matchday 16 across the league centers this weekend, featuring top teams like Real Tamale United, Tamale City, Techiman Eleven Wonders, Swedru All Blacks, Rospak FC, Ebusua Dwarfs, Hohoe United, Accra Great Olympics, Okwahu United and Port City FC.
