The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has commenced a five-day training program for scouts from the five southern sector regions of Ghana, namely Greater Accra, Central, Western, Eastern, and Volta.
The program, which kicked off on February 3, aims to equip scouts with basic scouting principles, profiles, and report writing skills, among other essential tools.
The training course is being held at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence in Prampram.
A team of experienced instructors, led by Prof. Joseph K. Mintah, Technical Director of the GFA, is facilitating the training program. Other instructors include Desmond Ofei, Director of Coaching Education; Joseph Tetteh-Zutah, Elite Academy Manager; Papa Nii Lartey, Head of Talent Identification and Development; Edward Acheampong; and Fataw Salifu, Scouts Manager.
The training program is designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of scouts, enabling them to identify and develop young talents in their respective regions. By investing in the development of scouts, the GFA aims to strengthen the foundation of Ghanaian football and uncover the next generation of stars.
The program will run until February 7, and participants are expected to return to their regions equipped with the expertise and confidence to make a positive impact on the development of football in Ghana.
