Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Ishola Olanrewaju Olawale, has ordered an immediate physical headcount of all police personnel in the state command.
In a wireless message dated February 5, 2025, the CP mandated that all officers must present themselves within seven days or risk being classified as ghost workers or fake personnel.
The directive, referenced CB:4001/LS/DFA/VOL.103/116 and titled “Order and Directives,” was addressed to all divisions, units, tactical teams, and squads.
It stated that officers are required to submit their current payslips as proof of their status.
“Anyone who could not present himself shall be regarded as a ghost worker and fake,” the message warned.
All units have been given one week to report back with their findings.
