We Will No Longer Meet at the Party’s National Secretariat – PDP BoT

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT) has announced that it will no longer hold meetings at the party’s national secretariat, Wadata Plaza, in Abuja, due to security concerns.

The decision was made public by the BoT Chairman, Senator Adolphus Wabara, on Wednesday, during the opening of a meeting of the Board in Abuja.

According to Senator Wabara, the BoT will henceforth meet outside the PDP national secretariat until the security situation at the Wadata Plaza improves.

This decision comes on the heels of a violent clash between supporters of two claimants to the national secretary position, Senator Samuel Anyanwu and Sunday Ude-Okoye, during a meeting of the BoT at the PDP national secretariat last week.

The BoT members are expected to discuss ways to resolve the multiple court judgments affecting the position of the National Secretary. Prominent members of the BoT, including Senator Ahmed Makarfi, Secretary of the BoT, and former Governors Achike Udenwa, Sam Egwu, Babangida Aliyu, Senator Ben Obi, and Chief Olagunsoye Oyinlola, are in attendance.
