Diana Hamilton shares the secret to creating uplifting, relatable gospel music

Award-winning gospel artist Diana Hamilton shared how she manages to stay true to her faith while ensuring that her music resonates with listeners.

“The bottom line is making sure the message is unadulterated,” Diana explained while speaking with Bola Ray on Starr Chat monitored by MyNewsGh.

She emphasized the importance of ensuring that the message of Jesus in her songs is portrayed positively. For her, the clarity and purity of the message are paramount.

However, she also highlighted the importance of making her music relatable to her audience. Diana said, “When I get a song, one of the things I ask God is, ‘Father, grant me utterance to be able to put it out there in a way that you want me to do it but also in a way that people can relate.’”

She shared that this desire for relatability has led many listeners to find comfort in her music during difficult times. “At every stage in my life, there’s a Diana Hamilton song that takes me through it,” she said, illustrating how her music connects with people on a personal level.

Diana also pointed out that creating music is a collaborative effort, requiring the right team of professionals around her.

“Getting the right people around me is crucial,” she said, acknowledging the importance of producers, managers, and even the right platforms to share her message.

“When I work with a new producer, I always say to them, every time I’ve changed a producer, I’ve changed my sound,” she added.
