A raging fire broke out in the early hours of Wednesday, January 29, behind the Trinity Gas filling station in Dzorwulu, destroying several properties and leaving extensive damage in its wake.
The blaze, which quickly spread through the area, engulfed a cluster of wooden structures, reducing businesses and shops to ashes.
According to initial reports, the fire is suspected to have originated from a Nigerian restaurant located behind Awo’s Unisex Boutique building.
Eyewitnesses recounted how the fire erupted suddenly, swiftly consuming the restaurant before extending to nearby structures.
As the flames intensified, local residents rushed to the scene in an attempt to salvage belongings before they were completely lost.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded swiftly, with fire trucks arriving just 15 minutes after the incident was reported.
Firefighters worked tirelessly to contain the inferno, preventing it from spreading to other commercial properties in the area.
Authorities are yet to determine the exact cause of the fire, as investigations are underway to ascertain the circumstances that led to the outbreak.
