Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah named acting EOCO Boss


President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah as the Acting Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

The appointment, which takes effect from January 27, 2025, was officially communicated in a letter signed by Callistus Mahama, Ph.D., Secretary to the President.

According to the letter, Dapilah’s appointment is in accordance with Article 195(1) of the Constitution and Section 11(1) of the Economic and Organised Crime Act, 2010 (Act 804).

His role as Acting Executive Director will be in place pending the constitutionally required advice of the authority’s governing board, in consultation with the Public Services Commission.

“I take this opportunity to congratulate you formally on your appointment,” the letter read, emphasizing the government’s confidence in Dapilah’s ability to lead EOCO.
