Mahama appoints Edudzi Tamaklo as Acting CEO of NPA


President John Dramani Mahama has named Godwin Edudzi Tamaklo as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA).

The announcement was made in a press release from the Presidency on Friday, 17 January.

The NPA, a critical regulatory body in Ghana’s petroleum sector, ensures that the industry operates within international standards and contributes to the country’s development.

Mr Tamaklo, currently the Director of Legal Affairs for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is renowned for his legal expertise and dedication to public service. His appointment underscores President Mahama’s commitment to reinforcing leadership in key national institutions.

Expressing his gratitude, Mr Tamaklo took to Facebook on Saturday, 18 January, saying:
“I am deeply thankful to President John Dramani Mahama for entrusting me with this responsibility. I am committed to serving diligently in this capacity.”

His appointment has been met with widespread approval, with many highlighting his wealth of experience and dedication to public service as assets to the NPA’s operations.
