I don’t want to help Tinubu’s government

The Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II has said that he is no longer interested in helping the President Bola Tinubu’s administration to communicate benefits of its reforms and policies to the people.

Sanusi, while speaking at the 2025 Gani Fawehinmi annual lecture said the present administration led by Tinubu lacks credible individuals who are capable to presenting his reforms to Nigerians.

Sanusi said, “I have decided not to speak about the economy or the reforms, nor to explain anything regarding them. If I explain, it would only benefit this government and I don’t want to aid this government.

“I choose not to help this government. You see, they are my friends. If they fail to act like friends, I will not act like one.

Stating that he does not plan to fill that void for this administration, Sanusi said he would continue to observe the actions of Tinubu and his entire cabinet from afar.

“I observe their actions and they lack credible individuals who can effectively explain their policies. However, I am not here to assist. I began by offering support, but I have decided to stop,” he added.

He also said that what Nigerians are facing today is just a fraction of the necessary consequence of decades of irresponsible management of a system.

“People were warned decades ago that if they continued down this path, this is where they would end up. They chose not to listen,” the Emir said.
