Mahama nominates Salisu Be-Awuribi for Savannah Regional Minister position


President John Dramani Mahama has officially submitted his first list of regional ministerial nominees to the Speaker of Parliament for approval.

This marks a significant milestone in his administration since assuming office on January 7, 2025.

Among the ten nominees is Lawyer Salisu Be-Awuribi, who has been nominated to lead the Savannah Region, reflecting Mahama’s commitment to selecting leaders capable of driving regional development.

The letter addressed to the Speaker of Parliament requests the necessary parliamentary approval in line with constitutional requirements.

This is the first wave of appointments that President Mahama will work with to manage Ghana’s ten regions, setting the tone for his leadership moving forward.

Meanwhile, here’s the purported full list of ministers nominated so far;

Northern Region – Ali Adolf John, Oti Region – John Kwadwo Gyapong, Volta Region – James Gunu, Eastern Region – Mrs. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, North-East Region – Ibrahim Tia, Ashanti Region – Dr. Frank Amoakohene, Upper East – Akamugri Donatus Atanga, Ahafo Region – Charity Gardiner, Savannah Region – Lawyer Salisu Bi-Awuribe, and Greater Accra Region – Linda Ocloo
