Oluwatimileyin Ajayi, a Nigerian gospel singer had been arrested with the severed head of a lady simply identified as his girlfriend.
The gospel singer was said to have been arrested by the police close to a church on Sunday, January 12.
Confirming his arrest, the spokesperson for the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, Josephine Adeh said the gospel singer was not nabbed in Abuja as widely claimed.
According to Adeh, the singer was arrested in Nasarawa which has boundaries with the FCT.
She said, “To clarify, the incident above did not occur in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) but in Nasarawa State. We kindly urge everyone to ensure accuracy in such reports for better public understanding.”
On Monday, the social media space went agog with reports of the gospel singer who was caught with a nylon bag containing the severed head of his supposed girlfriend.
Social media users and eyewitness accounts said flies were following the singer with the nylon bag which he was carrying thus drawing people’s attention to the content of the bag.
It was at that instant that passersby stopped him and found out that the bag he carried contained a fresh human head.
They raised an alarm, tied him down until then police arrived and picked up the gospel singer.
