Air Force deploys fact-finding team to Zamfara after accidental bombing of civilians


The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has deployed a fact-finding team to Zamfara State following reports of civilian casualties resulting from a recent airstrike.

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, announced the decision, tasking the team with conducting a comprehensive investigation into the incident.

The team, led by Air Vice Marshal Edward K. Gabkwet, Director of Coordination and Cooperation in the Civil-Military Relations Branch, will engage with state and local officials and other critical stakeholders to assess the situation and recommend appropriate actions.

Air Marshal Abubakar reaffirmed NAF’s commitment to professionalism and transparency, stating that the service remains dedicated to safeguarding civilian lives and infrastructure while upholding global operational standards.

“We value the life and well-being of every Nigerian and are determined to maintain public trust while refining our operational procedures to prevent future incidents,” he said.
