Lagos State LG Presents N11.2 Billion Budget


On Tuesday, January 7, the Bariga Local Council of Lagos State presented an appropriation bill of N11.2 billion to its legislators.

Kolade Alabi, the chairman of the council described the bill as a ‘Budget of Consolidation’.

Alabi who was represented by Zainot Kuponiyi, his vice chairman said the budget is a roadmap to a shared vision of progress and development for the people of Bariga.

He also explained that the bill solidifies the foundations of growth while preparing his administration towards providing sustainable and impactful development for the people.

He said, “In recent years, we have faced a host of challenges—economic uncertainty, global instability, and pressures on public services.

“Yet, through these trials, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to prudent fiscal management,” Alabi said.

Further speaking, Alabi said his administration is determined to ensure that every naira spent delivers the much-needed impact to the people of Bariga.

He added, “The decisions we make today will define the trajectory of our economy. 

“We are going to prioritise programmes that deliver value, eliminate wasteful spending and invest in strategic areas by channelling resources into key sectors like healthcare, education, and infrastructure to ensure long-term growth,” Alabi said.
