The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG), Northeast chapter, has accused former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, of hypocrisy, labeling his recent public support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a calculated move driven by personal ambition.
In a statement released on Monday, the group’s Northeast Coordinator, Abubakar Isah Waziri, described Dogara’s actions as a “political somersault” to secure political patronage.
“Dogara’s newfound admiration for President Tinubu is nothing but a desperate attempt to curry favour and secure relevance,” Waziri stated.
The group further alleged that Dogara has a track record of betraying northern interests, citing his tenure as Speaker, where they claim he failed to make any meaningful contributions to his constituency or the region.
“Dogara’s hypocrisy is an insult to northerners. He pretends to champion Arewa interests but, in reality, promotes division through his so-called Middle Belt agenda,” Waziri added.
The CNG called on northerners to remain vigilant and hold leaders accountable, urging them to reject any actions that undermine regional unity.
