NPP Election Review Committee asked to review processes in electing party leaders, PCs, among others

In their bid to restructure their political party and ensure that they come back stronger after the 2024 elections, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has set up a committee to investigate their electoral loss in the 2024 elections.

The committee setup will do a post-mortem on the cause of their defeat in the election, which they believe they lost due to anger from party folks.

However, the committee has also been given another mandate of looking into some critical decision-making parameters in the political party that need some form of amendment.

Making these known while addressing the press on Monday, December 23, 2024, the National Chairman of the NPP, Stephen Ntim, said, “One critical area that must occupy the attention of the election review committee is the possible need for a constitutional amendment and the restructuring of the party’s internal decision-making processes, particularly on the mode of electing presidential, parliamentary, and party executives, among others.”

He used the opportunity to call for unity as the political party braves the odds to ensure that they are back stronger.

Meanwhile, some members of the political party have in the past been suggesting some changes in the political party structure and dealings in order to avoid certain shortfalls that led to their defeat in the 2024 election.
