Speed Darlington granted bail after 1 month in detention


Almost one month after his arrest by the Nigeria Police Force in Imo State, Nigerian rapper and internet sensation, Darlington Okoye, has been granted bail.

Okoye popularly known as Speed Darlington was alleged to have been arrested by the Police following a petition by Grammy Award artist, Burna Boy over an alleged affiliation with the embattled US rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.

Speedy’s arrest was made public by his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju who claimed that his client was arrested on directives from Burna Boy.

Adeyanju’s revelation has since continued to raise outrage among Nigerian social media users and influencer who called for his immediate release.

However, to everyone’s supreme, a renowned lawyer, Stan Alieke in a post on his Instagram story said Speedy has been released.

According to Alieke, Speedy also known as Akpi by many was granted bail by the court.

Alieke who did not provide details of the bail condition wrote, “Apki has been granted bail by the court.”
