Kaduna Police Nab 26 Kidnappers, 12 Rustlers, 114 Robbers, and 10 Rapists

The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested 523 suspects involved in various crimes, ranging from kidnapping to armed robbery and cattle rustling, in a string of successful operations.

Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Abdullahi disclosed this while addressing journalists in Kaduna.

“Since assuming duty as the 44th Commissioner of Police, I have prioritised proactive policing and community engagement,” Abdullahi said.

These efforts, he added, led to the arrest of 26 kidnappers, 97 phone snatchers, 12 cattle rustlers, and 17 car snatchers. Ten rape suspects were also apprehended, among others.

In an intensified effort to curb crime ahead of the ember months, police raided several black spots, resulting in over 350 additional arrests.

High-profile recoveries include five AK-47 rifles, a submachine gun, 283 rustled cows, and 105 rounds of live ammunition. The police also rescued 102 kidnap victims, including 89 individuals saved during a gun battle in Giwa LGA.

One notable case involved the arrest of a dismissed soldier, Abdulmalik Aliyu, for attacking a motorcyclist and robbing him.

In a separate operation, officers intercepted a car theft syndicate and recovered a stolen Toyota LE vehicle. Meanwhile, a child trafficking case saw detectives rescue a two-week-old baby and arrest the perpetrators in Kafanchan.

Abdullahi commended the dedication of his officers and pledged continued efforts to ensure public safety.

“These successes reflect the unwavering commitment of the Kaduna Police Command to protect lives and property,” he said.

Ongoing investigations are expected to yield further breakthroughs as the command cracks down on organised crime across the state.
