A relative of one of the two young girls who were killed by the son of Salifu Amoako, Elrad Amoako, is calling for a review of the juvenile correctional system.
According to the relative, it should get to a point where juvenile correctional systems are amended to allow for punishment to be commensurate with the crime caused.
The juvenile court today sentenced Elrad Salifu Amoako to six months at a senior correctional facility.
This was after he pleaded guilty to eight counts including two counts of manslaughter.
Speaking to the media, the family could not fathom why someone would be incarcerated for only six months after killing two innocent girls.
“I hope it will get to a point where there will be amendments in the laws of the country. You cannot kill two people and be sentenced to six months,” the family member told the media.
