There are concerns about John Dramani Mahama’s fight against corruption as he takes the mandate of Ghanaians to lead them in 2025.
The concerns emanate especially from seeing Woyome, who has in the past been found to be corrupt and has been made to pay some funds to communicate on electoral issues.
To many, there is no glimmer of hope if such characters will still be given a space in the new administration.
A Facebook user by name Kwame Amporful who post generated engagements on the corruption topic said ” For those expecting the JM led NDC to fight corruption,
let’s get some clarity, has JM said anywhere that he will protect the public purse?
Should we genuinely expect he will fight corruption? And, will it yield the desired results, if he did?”.
A known thought leader, Barnabas Nii Laryea, raised some concerns, especially with Woyome in the thick of affairs in the lead-up to the NDC’s victory.
His comment on Amporful’s post said “With Woyome speaking on electoral issues for the NDC, I’m not exactly sure what to expect but still some glimmer of hope, Let’s see the list of ministers. And decide our fate and next action”.
Many others who commented on the post shared similar opinions but indicated that Ghanaians must at least wait for the President-elect to be sworn in before they can judge the new government’s direction in the fight against corruption.
