Koku Anyidoho, former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and current Chief Executive Officer of the Atta Mills Institute, has disclosed that he would decline any political appointment from President-elect John Mahama if offered one.
In a tweet posted on his official page, Mr. Anyidoho revealed that even before John Mahama was officially declared the winner of the just-concluded elections, many people asked if he would accept a political role in the incoming administration.
He categorically stated that he has no interest in such an appointment.
“I’ve been asked several times if I shall accept an appointment in a JM government now that he has won; my answer is a BIG NO!!!” Mr. Anyidoho wrote.
It is worth recalling that Koku Anyidoho was expelled from the NDC in 2021.
A letter addressed to him by the party stated that the decision followed the Functional Executive Committee’s (FEC) consideration of the National Disciplinary Committee’s report, which found him guilty of misconduct and anti-party behavior.
“The committee’s report found you guilty of the said allegations of misconduct and anti-party behavior and recommended your outright expulsion from the party,” the letter stated.
“You are, therefore, by the decision of FEC, expelled from the National Democratic Congress, and for that matter, you are no longer recognized as a member of the party and cannot carry yourself as such,” it concluded, with the statement signed by then-General Secretary Asiedu Nketiah.
