Outgoing Member of Parliament (MP) for the Hohoe Constituency in the Volta Region, John-Peter Amewu, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to his constituents for allowing him to serve and to his supporters for their unwavering dedication to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the constituency.
In a statement following the 2024 parliamentary elections, Mr. Amewu revealed that he had personally called to congratulate the newly elected MP, Thomas Worlanyo Tsekpo of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), on his victory.
He urged his supporters not to view the loss as the end of their political journey but rather as the start of a new chapter filled with renewed determination.
“Let us not consider our defeat as the end of our journey; it is just the beginning of a new chapter. The energy and passion demonstrated must continue to guide us as we forge ahead.
Let us remain steadfast in our resolve, knowing that a brighter future is still within reach,” Mr. Amewu conveyed in his message to the people of Hohoe.
As the Minister of Railway Development, Mr. Amewu made history as the first NPP MP for the Hohoe Constituency. However, the seat has now returned to the NDC, marking a shift in political representation for the area.
Thomas Worlanyo Tsekpo, the NDC candidate, is now the newly elected MP for the Hohoe Constituency.
