Afrobeat singer, Kuami Eugene christened Eugene Kwame Marfo has stated that it’ll take grace, hard work and connections for a Ghanaian to win the Grammys.
Discussing the prestigious awards scheme on Cape Coast’s Property FM, the ‘Monica’ hitmaker said we are now taking baby steps as a music industry.
“When we talk about the Grammys we ought to know that we are now taking baby steps and even in Ghana promoting a song demands an artiste to pay for promo.
“And how do you expect us to move from here straight to the Grammys when people demand payment before our songs are played on the airwaves,” he asked in a one-on-one interview.
“When we start these Grammys conversations it will take so much for a Ghanaian to win at the Grammys because you have to gather the masses.
“And looking at our population we are about four times or more the size of Nigeria and so it will take grace, so much work and connections to win the Grammys,” he added.
