The latest episode of The Toast on GHOne got heated as Achawa, Abena Moet, and other guests debated whether love should be led by emotions or logic.
Achawa argued that relationships and marriages are emotional by nature, which is why heartbreak can push people into extreme distress.
“That’s why so many people are committing suicide over relationships. How many people do you know who can separate their head from their heart?” she questioned.
Abena Moet, however, had a different stance. She insisted that love should be approached logically. “Why would you go into a relationship with your whole heart?
!You have to use your head!” she argued. When Achawa sarcastically asked if she should love with her lungs or kidney instead, Abena Moet doubled down. “Yes, your head! Love should be calculated.”
Another guest chimed in, saying that true love removes all logic. “The moment you realize logic has gone out the door, you know you’re in love. That’s when you find yourself tolerating things you wouldn’t accept on a normal day—like cooking for a man at 11 p.m. without complaints.”
They all agreed that people in love often do things they would normally advise their friends against. “If your friend told you the things you’re doing for your partner, you’d probably ask, ‘What is wrong with you?’ But when you’re in love, it just feels right,” one guest noted.
Summing up the debate, Abena Moet concluded, “Love is never logical. If someone is still being logical about their relationship, I can tell you for a fact—they’re not in love.”
