Henry Nana Boakye, the National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has strongly criticized President John Dramani Mahama, questioning his awareness of key legal decisions made under his administration.
Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Thursday monitored by MyNewsGH, Nana Boakye expressed disbelief over claims that Mahama had no knowledge of significant cases being dropped, particularly those involving former ministers and a potential Bank of Ghana governor.
“What kind of governance is this? That you drop such important cases without the input of the president, and yet we are told he wasn’t aware? Tell that to children by the fireside, not to us,” he declared.
Nana Boakye further alleged that Mahama appointed officials with the sole purpose of “clearing” members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) while targeting political opponents for prosecution.
His remarks have added fuel to the ongoing debate over judicial decisions and political favoritism in the country.
