The Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned the remarks made by the national publicity of the party, Debo Ologunagba on the suspension of Adolphus Wabara.
Wabara, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the party was suspended by the PDP in Abia State.
According to Abraham Amah, the party’s state chairman, Wabara’s suspension cannot be invalidated.
Amah said the suspension of Wabara is in line with the PDP’s constitution.
He said Ologunagba was possibly expressing his personal opinion and his statement cannot be based on any official resolution from the party’s National Working Committee.
“We operate under a kind of federal structure within the party. The state chapter has the right to discipline a member without recourse to the NWC.
“We can take our decisions without the approval of the NWC.
“The only thing that empowers us to act is our own constitution, and in doing so, we must ensure that we do not act in variance with it,” Amah said.
