Former NPA CEO, three others under investigation for alleged embezzlement


Former Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Mustapha Abdul Hamid is under investigation for embezzlement.

This was disclosed by the Office of the Office Special Prosecutor (OSP) at a presser on February 11, 2025.

The OSP alleged that GHC1.3billion from the Unified Petroleum Pricing Fund (UPPF) at the NPA is currently under investigation.

Three other individuals being investigated include the Coordinator of the UPPF, Mr. Jacob Amoah, NPA staff, Freda Acheampong and another staff, Wendy Ashong Newman.

“The OSP has also commenced investigation into suspected corruption and corruption-related offences in respect of an alleged embezzlement of a GHC1.3billion from the Unified Petroleum Pricing Fund (UPPF) at the National Petroleum Authority.

“The investigation primarily targets the following persons; the Coordinator of the UPPF, Mr. Jacob Amoah, NPA Staff, Freda Acheampong, NPA Staff, Wendy Ashong Newman and the former Chief Executive Officer of NPA, Mustapha Abdul Hamid,” the OSP disclosed.
