The Ghana Police Service has launched a manhunt for a group of individuals who stormed the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council and disrupted the Council of State elections in Kumasi.
The incident occurred just as Electoral Commission (EC) officials were about to begin counting ballots. The attackers, described as heavily built men, forcibly halted the process and destroyed all voting materials, causing chaos at the polling center.
Eyewitnesses say the unexpected intrusion created panic among election officials and delegates who had gathered to witness the results.
The police have assured the public that they are reviewing surveillance footage and other available evidence to identify and apprehend those responsible.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to maintaining law and order, warning that anyone found culpable will face the full force of the law.
