Former Auditor-General and member of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Committee, Daniel Domelevo, has dismissed claims that the committee’s work amounts to witch-hunting, asserting that any such accusations would not stand legal scrutiny.
“If it is truly witch-hunting, it will fail in court,” he stated in an interview with Citi FM on Tuesday, February 11.
Domelevo clarified that while the findings in the ORAL report are not final, those who believe they have been unfairly implicated have the option of seeking legal redress.
“If you think that we’ve damaged your reputation, you can go to court,” he told host Bernard Avle.
On Monday, February 10, 2025, the ORAL team submitted its report to President John Dramani Mahama in Accra. Following this, the President instructed Dr. Ayine to carry out immediate investigations into the cases detailed in the report.
The ORAL Committee also revealed that it has received a total of 2,417 complaints from individuals and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs).
“We received 1,493 calls through the toll-free line. We also received 924 emails. Fortunately, all the calls are recorded automatically, and the emails have also been preserved for verification and validation.
“In total, the number of complaints received amounts to 2,417 complaints.”
