Alhaji Muhammad Mumuni has been elected as the Northern Region’s representative on the Council of State after securing an overwhelming majority in the election.
The former Kumbungu MP clinched 26 out of 32 votes, defeating three other contenders. His extensive political background, including serving as Minister for Foreign Affairs and contributing to various parliamentary committees, played a key role in his victory.
His closest rival, Richard Andani Yakubu, managed four votes, while Nyande Abdul Raqb and Adam Hussein secured two and zero votes, respectively.
Mumuni’s election reinforces his continued influence in regional and national affairs.
