Nigerian comedian Bovi has shared his thoughts on parenting, emphasizing the lasting effects parents’ behaviours have on their children.
Speaking on the Honest Bunch podcast monitored by MyNewsGh, Bovi stated that while mothers can raise children well, a father’s negative influence can overshadow their efforts.
“A mother can raise a child very well, but if the father is a nuisance, that son, no matter how well raised, will be a nuisance to his wife,” he said.
He explained that children often become a blend of what they witness at home. “Some children are a hybrid of good and evil. It’s not bipolar; they just have the best of both worlds,” Bovi noted.
The comedian also pointed out how negative family dynamics can shape children’s behaviour in adulthood. “Some girls are very abusive because they saw their mothers abuse their fathers,” he stated.
Bovi further reflected on how many men in his generation never saw their parents express love.
“Many of us learned to be romantic from movies and novels because we never saw our fathers and mothers kiss, play, or call each other pet names. We just woke up one day and realized we had younger siblings,” he joked.
