Majority Chief Whip, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, has slammed the Minority caucus for causing disruptions during the vetting of ministerial nominees on January 30, describing their actions as deliberate and unnecessary.
Reacting to the incident, Majority Chief Whip, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, strongly criticized the Minority’s actions, describing them as deliberate and unnecessary.
Speaking on TV3’s Hot Issues monitored by MyNewsGh, he stated, “First, it was totally avoidable.
“The minority had no business doing what they did. It was totally uncalled for and they repeated the same thing a day after.”
Dafeamekpor further suggested that the disruptions were not spontaneous but rather a calculated move by the Minority to create chaos whenever they disagreed with proceedings.
“That’s why I think that it was something they planned—that where they disagree with us on any matter, they must create a chaotic [scene].”
The dramatic scenes in Parliament have become a growing concern, with many questioning whether decorum is being sacrificed for political point-scoring.
The Chief Whip hinted that the Majority was prepared to respond but chose restraint. “On the Friday, but for some words of wisdom, we would have reacted. So even on Friday when we were continuing with the vetting, they came.”
