The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has selected Ghanaian referees Theophilus Aberenga Akugre and Amoah Reginald Collins to participate in the prestigious Young Referees Course set to take place in Ivory Coast from March 3 to March 8, 2025.
The training program aims to groom and equip young referees with modern officiating techniques, in-depth knowledge of the laws of the game, and practical match-handling experience to prepare them for future continental assignments.
This recognition by CAF justifies the growing reputation of Ghanaian referees on the international stage and provides Akugre and Collins with a unique opportunity to refine their skills under the guidance of top CAF and FIFA refereeing instructors.
Following the training, the duo is expected to bring their newfound expertise back home, enhancing officiating standards in Ghanaian football and positioning themselves for future appointments in CAF competitions.
