Bandits are about to be moving towards Abuja

The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, Olatunji Disu, has raised the alarm over the movement of bandits toward Abuja, assuring residents that security agencies are taking proactive measures to stop them.

Speaking to journalists, CP Disu revealed that intelligence reports indicate that criminal elements are attempting to infiltrate the capital from neighbouring states.

“We have noticed that these bandits are about to be moving towards the Federal Capital Territory. That is why we have intensified clearance operations in all areas bordering the FCT.

“The military, civil defence, and police have been working together to ensure these criminals are stopped before they get here,” he stated.

He further explained that security forces have been conducting successful raids to disrupt the activities of criminal syndicates involved in infrastructure vandalism, manhole theft, and power cable looting.

Disu emphasized that the security council, chaired by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, has endorsed a joint strategy involving all security agencies to ensure Abuja remains safe.

“We finally decided to involve security operatives from neighbouring states in joint meetings, collaborations, and operations.

“This way, we can have a coordinated approach to policing our states and preventing criminals from simply relocating when one state conducts a crackdown,” he explained.

The commissioner assured residents that swift action is being taken to neutralize emerging threats, urging the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities.

“The activities of the task force comprising all six agencies will continue. We have assigned different tasks, and we are committed to sustaining this momentum to keep Abuja safe,” Disu concluded.
