The 2024 Boxing Ghana Awards was a dynamic tribute to the sport, overflowing with energy, excitement, and passion. One of the most fiercely contested categories was the Boxing Fan of the Year award, which saw Gordon Frimpong, widely known as Osibor, emerge as the winner after an intense competition.

Boxing Ghana has cemented its status as a premier media platform, championing the growth and recognition of boxing in Ghana and beyond. This awards scheme serves as an inspiring acknowledgment of the talent, dedication, and contributions of key individuals and organizations in the boxing ecosystem.

The Boxing Fan of the Year category celebrates devoted fans who have made significant contributions to Ghana’s boxing scene on an international level. The nominees included Dauda Fuseini, Gordon Frimpong (Osibor), and Sammy Anim Addo who garnered immense support, with 782 fans and professionals casting their votes online.

With 345 votes (44.1%), Gordon Frimpong (Osibor) claimed the award, reinforcing his influence within the boxing community. He is the manager of National Featherweight Champion Stanley Nyantekyi and the CEO of Osibor Promotions and Management Syndicate. His relentless efforts have played a vital role in the sport’s progress.

Other notable contenders included Sammy Anim Addo, manager of WBO Africa Featherweight Champion John Abaga Laryea, who received 255 votes (32.6%), and Dauda Fuseini, Vice President of the Ghana Boxing Federation, who secured 209 votes (26.7%). Their unwavering commitment to the sport highlights the strong support within the boxing community.

The widespread enthusiasm surrounding the Boxing Ghana Awards has motivated various companies and individuals to contribute rewards and sponsorships for the winners. Mr. Sammy Ofosuhene, CEO and Managing Chief Editor of Boxing Ghana extended his heartfelt gratitude for the remarkable voter participation, commending all nominees, contributors, and winners for their incredible achievements.
