Gifty Klenam, the former Member of Parliament for Lower West Akim in the Eastern Region, has made a pivotal political move by defecting to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
During an insightful interview on Joy Prime, Klenam explained that her decision was based on a deep commitment to principles and her belief in the NDC’s long-term vision for the country.
“To me, it’s about principle. The NDC has the human resources to lead and develop Ghana for the next 20 to 30 years,” Klenam stated in an interview on Joy News monitored by MyNewsGH.
While some critics may argue that her move aligns with the NDC’s current political advantage, Klenam was firm in her stance, asserting that anyone who truly loves Ghana and seeks the country’s development would understand her decision.
“It shouldn’t be difficult for people to follow suit,” she added, signaling that her choice was not driven by short-term gains but rather a strategic alignment with a party that she believes has a solid, long-term governance plan.
In discussing her political career, Klenam revealed that she had contested elections on various platforms over the years, including the NPP and as an independent candidate.
