The United Nations Special Representative for Libya and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Hannah Tetteh has assured that she will discharge her duties to the best of her ability.
On January 25, 2025, through the United Nation’s Facebook page in Ghana, her appointment was announced.
The Post read “Congratulations to Ms. Hannah Serwaa Tetteh of Ghana on her appointment by the United Nations António Guterres as his Special Representative for Libya and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL)”.
In a post shared via social media, Hannah Tetteh used the opportunity to thank well-wishers and loved ones for the congratulatory messages.
She used the opportunity to assure the UN of giving off her best to repay the trust reposed in her with the appointment.
Her post shared via social media read “I would like to express my appreciation to all of you who have reached out to me on Facebook, Facebook messenger and other social media platforms congratulating me on my appointment as Special Representative of the Secretary General and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL).
I am sorry that I haven’t been able to respond to you all individually, but please be assured that your kind words, prayers and encouraging messages of support are deeply appreciated. I am honoured that the UN Secretary General has had the confidence in me to assign this challenging responsibility, which I will discharge to the best of my abilities and I look forward to working with all key stakeholders and partners in Libya as well as my colleagues in UNSMIL and the other UN Departments, Agencies, Funds and programs in this endeavour. Thank you all very much”.
