Activist, Oliver Barker-Vormawor has said that his comments about members of the Appointments Committee taking money to approve appointees was a statement of a whistleblower about happenings that needed to be looked into.
He has since apologized to the committee for the comments, saying it was not intentional to make such disparaging comments.
“It was never intentional to make disparaging comments about the committee.”
He added, “It is the statement of a whistleblower about some happenings that must be looked at.”
Vormawor was invited by Parliament’s Appointment Committee after a post shared via social media suggested that the Appointment Committee is demanding money to approve appointees.
His post which is still on Facebook, read, “So all the monies the ministerial appointees are being asked to pay to the Appointments Committee just to get approved, are those ones not affected by ORAL? Strange Republic”.
