Miracle Adoma, the wife of popular Ghanaian radio presenter Kofi Adoma Nwanwani, has addressed reports regarding her husband’s recent shooting incident, clarifying that he was directly shot in the face and not injured by gunpowder, as some speculations suggested.
In a video shared on her page on Facebook, on January 18, 2025, and sighted by Mynewsgh.com, Miracle Adoma, who also holds the title of Benkum Hemaa of Gomoa Amforo, explained that the incident occurred during a festival.
“We all know that before someone shoots a gun during a festival, the person shoots to the skies, but this time around, the person who pulled the trigger didn’t shoot into the sky. He placed the gun on his shoulder and pulled the trigger. So the person shot my husband in the face, and it wasn’t just gunpowder. Even the camera he was working with fell,” she explained.
She recounted how her husband was bleeding profusely and received immediate help from a young lady at the scene, who ensured he was rushed to the hospital for urgent care.
According to Miracle Adoma, Kofi initially received treatment in Dormaa before being transferred to the Berekum Hospital for further medical attention when the situation worsened. She expressed gratitude to the doctors who worked diligently to save his eyesight.
“The doctors who treated him did well. Because they tried their best to make sure he didn’t lose his eyesight. He was transferred to Berekum for a scan, and after, he was transferred back to Accra… The incident happened on a Friday,” she added.
Addressing rumours about her presence at the festival, Miracle Adoma categorically denied being there, stating, “There is news speculating that I was present at the festival because I was sworn in recently as a queen mother, so I was invited to the programme. But I want to say that I wasn’t present. With all humility, I wasn’t present at the event.”
The incident has drawn significant public attention, with many expressing shock and concern over the journalist’s ordeal.
