Kofi Adoma’s shooting incident took place in December – Sources

Sources have disclosed to Mynewsgh.com that the shooting incident involving Ghanaian radio presenter Kofi Adoma Nwanwani occurred on December 21, 2024.

The incident took place during the 25th-anniversary celebrations of Dormaahene Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu II.

According to the insider, the unfortunate event happened inside the Abranpredease, Dormaahene’s palace, where customary rituals were being performed.

The carbide cannon in the form of bamboo that injured Kofi Adoma was placed on the shoulder of the person handling it, and what struck the presenter’s face was a white substance locally known as “cannon.”

The palace authorities acted swiftly, ensuring Kofi was transported to Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital for immediate medical attention.

He was later transferred to the Berekum Holy Family Hospital for further treatment.

Contradictions in Accounts

The source also addressed claims made by Kofi Adoma’s wife, Miracle Adoma, regarding a lack of outreach from the Dormaa Palace.

Contrary to her statement that no one from Dormaa had checked on the journalist, the source revealed that a delegation attempted to visit Kofi Adoma on two occasions but was unable to gain access to him.

The Palace, according to Mynewsgh.com source, is set to issue a release regarding the incident in the coming days.

Background

Kofi Adoma’s wife, Miracle Adoma, who also serves as the Benkum Hemaa of Gomoa Amforo, recently spoke about the incident to clarify misinformation. In a video shared on her Facebook page on 18 January 2025, she addressed speculations that her husband had been injured by gunpowder.

“We all know that before someone shoots a gun during a festival, the person shoots to the skies, but this time around, the person who pulled the trigger didn’t shoot into the sky. He placed the gun on his shoulder and pulled the trigger. So the person shot my husband in the face, and it wasn’t just gunpowder. Even the camera he was working with fell,” she explained.

She recounted that Kofi was bleeding profusely after the incident and credited a young lady at the scene for helping him receive urgent medical attention.

Miracle Adoma also praised the doctors in Dormaa and Berekum for their efforts in saving her husband’s eyesight.
