Nigerian author, pastor, and common-sense guru, Dr. Olumide Emmanuel, shared his thoughts on the dynamics of men moving into their wives’ or girlfriends’ homes.
Responding to a question from Ezinne Jane Ugorji, Dr. Emmanuel emphasized that the issue should not be about public perception.
“As long as both parties are comfortable with the decision, it is none of anyone’s business,” he stated. He continued by suggesting that the problem arises when people begin to publicize their living arrangements and make a spectacle out of them.
Dr. Emmanuel also highlighted the ego of men, saying, “The only person that can handle a man’s ego is the woman he’s in love with.”
He explained that men often deal with situations like infidelity in private but struggle when the situation is exposed to the public.
“When a man’s ego is kept private, it can be managed, but once it’s public, it becomes a huge issue.”
The conversation then turned to societal stereotypes. Dr. Emmanuel pointed out that many stereotypes, such as all men being bad or all women seeking money, are often misleading.
“There are good, cultured people out there doing things the right way,” he added, urging listeners to reject these damaging stereotypes.
