Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North, Ohene Kwame Frimpong, has told his distractors that he does not care about the smear campaign against his personality.
According to him, there is nothing that can be done against his person for choosing to caucus with the government in power in order to get developmental projects for his constituents.
He cited HON. Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, who was MP for the constituency from Jan 2013 to Jan 2017 but lost woefully in the 2016 elections just because he could not provide the needed development because his party was then in opposition.
Indicating that he will not end up in the situation Hon. Kwadwo Baah found himself in some years ago.
His post registering his displeasure at the smear campaign against him read “HON. Kwadwo Baah Agyemang was an NPP MP from Jan 2013 – Jan 2017. During his reign as the MP for Asante Akyem North, H.E John Mahama was the then President of the Republic of Ghana.
Unfortunately for Hon KBA, he only had the opportunity to serve his constituents for just one term (4 years).Hon KBA did his best but was axed! According to critics , he was not able to meet the demands of his constituents as he was in “opposition” since the then president was an NDC member and he was an NPP member.
Today, in 2025 it is the turn of OK FRIMPONG to serve the same constituency. As an independent candidate , I have the privilege to ALIGN / DO BUSINESS with any of the two caucuses in parliament , in this case MAJORITY (NDC) or MINORITY (NPP). Now, some people have started an agenda to smear me by calling me names for not aligning with the Minority(NPP) because they claim I am an NPP member and that was why they voted for me.
Now, during my campaign, I said it everywhere I went that, as an independent candidate, should I be voted for , I will align with any government which Win Power to enable me lobby for contracts/ development foe my constituency and that is exactly what I stand by.
If you are reading this, remember your president and my president is H.E JDM, so whether you voted for or against him, say with me … ɛyɛ Zu 🥳”.
